I have a friend that wants to transfer from UCSB to UCSD. Is an Accounting major at SB. How difficult would it be for him to transfer? Is it more difficult than a CC student, or easier? I believe his GAP is like 2.9. So does anybody have any idea?

Community college students are generally given priority by default. Not sure about the difficulty.

Anybody else! Somebody respond!

I believe it's harder to intercampus transfer and to UCSD i think it will be quite difficult because is GPA is below 3.0, and depend if accounting is an impacted major at SD or not, which you can go check to see at its site or assist.org and generally in the Fall there are more pool of students compare to witner/spring, so i say the difficulty is pretty high but your friend can always apply to see what happen because there are always exceptions.

whats wrong with sb??? anywho yes it is harder for him to transfer. CC transfer students are given priority over uc transfers. 2.9 is not competitive what so ever. UCSD is hella hard to get into, but whatever, he should try anyways if hes miserable at SB. Anything can happen

I would say it's a reach, but it's possible. Just write a great essay about your friend's miserable life at SB and why he wants to transfer. if that fails, maybe he can go to like irvine or davis?
