Transfering (Help!)

Hi All,

I just got accepted to Cooley and I'm trying to decided whether to actually go. If I do, it will be to transfer after the first year. Ive read the different school's websites, the transfer procedures. What I want to know is how hard is it to transfer and if it is reasonable to go to cooley for just that one year and transfer? Is it worth it? thanks in advance

If you planning on transferring, then why would you go there?

Out of the friends I have that tried to transfer, all but 1 were unsuccessful (note that it's not that large of a sample size

well bc frankly, that is the only school that i got into considering my ****ty lsat score.

It is easy to transfer (the paperwork certainly isn't any worse than applying to law school)...if you do well. Good grades in the first year of law school can compensate for a bad LSAT score (they don't completely erase it, but they can help).

However, it's not always that easy to do well in law school--it's an adjustment to the style of learning and testing, and there's usually a curve. You aren't going to be the only one at Cooley trying to do well and transfer out. If you have a bad first semester, it could be very hard to transfer. You should look very carefully at Cooley's employment statistics and decide what you'll do if you can't transfer...will you drop out, and if so how will you pay back your 1L loans? Or will you stay there and try to get a job with a Cooley degree?
