Transfering in for spring 2008...

Would transfering to UF (as a junior... ill have 60 creds by then) in the spring help at all? I am going to UCF currently and i have 31 credits. Ill be taking summer classes and fall classes to get the required 60. Applied early decision as a freshman and tried to transfer for fall 2007, but didnt get in.

Dont they look only at college stats when you have 60+ credits? Currently i have a 4.0 gpa. my most recent semester i took 17 creds:

calc 2, physics (calc based), physics lab, english comp 2, govt., and micro economics. I am an engineering major and ill be taking physics 2, calc 3 and engineering statistics over the summer and mostly gen eds and diff eq over fall. I cant take the specialized classes untill diff eq is done so ill have a relatively easy semester i guess.

I would estimate my GPA would be a 3.75 at its lowest and 4.0 at its highest by the time i transfer if i get in. Do you think i have a shot? Would the bonus of applying before 2 times and having decent grades offset me not going to a community college? Not to mention applying before many applicants who will try to apply for fall 2008?

Does UF look at extra curriculars for transfering in? I am in two or three clubs and i had a job briefly for a few months but i left htat to make sure i do well in class.

Hi MR ERIC mossor

When I transferred in, I had zero extracurriculars and a 4.0, but I did come from a CC. If your grades are good enough, I don't see why they wouldn't take you...unless you're applying to transfer into a "limited access" major, or that I believe they do take a little more preference from CC transfers instead of regular university ones.

With a 3.75 at the least, a few extra curriculars, and 60+ credit hours, I don't see why you can't get in for Spring '08.

Pretty sure they don't look at ECs. I think if you have 60 credits and fufill all the requirements for the college you're applying to and have a decent gpa, you pretty much get in.
