special circumstances: is a new immigrant and just learned how to speak English for 4 years
separated from parents since 5
is doing biomedical research with a Stanford graduate school professor, who would recommend me by writing a 10 page long recommendation to admissions (he personally went there 4 times, and asked another professor for help)

This is what i dont get..ur SAT and SAT I scores are like excellent. But you went to a community college. I mean, no offence, but you would have gone to a UC forsure with ur high school stats. but anyways, your chances of stanford is good. 4.0 excellent

Really?? They did that to you ??How long exactly after you came to America that you applied to University ? If you got those result on the SATs, your potential is noticable.
It is extremely hard for an immigrant to speak English well when he has just come. Isn't that against immigrants, a big part of this country ?
I dont understand, you said "they figured that I couldn't speak English". So they had met you before they rejected you.

I am not going to comment on your chances, but if you think you can improve them by telling all other Stanford transfer applicants not waste their time, don't hold your breath. You need to be more objective of yourself and others.

No, I am not telling them not to apply. I am drawing an analogy as how hard it is.

And by any chance are you Chinese? for some reason, my fellow countryman LOVE to draw the conclusion that everyone is greedy and stuff, therefore we have a REALLY divided race, and everyone is aim to kill another.

wonder why.

and yes, UC screwed me over big time. I know an admission officer at Columbia, and he commented that 700 is the highest SAT verbal he've seen coming from a foreign student.

I am not Chinese, and you are the one being greedy. Stanford accepted more than 10 applicants. The ones i posted on the other thread were projected. However, 44 is still not 10. By the way, if it is so competetive, then why don't you not apply and let other students who want to benefit from the intellectual atmosphere apply instead of you, who just wants to stalk some girl?

Hey, some people don't know much about the admissions process. I know a high school student, who is blindly applying to colleges like Yale. She doesn't know what her SAT score is. She has not taken SAT II tests yet. She only passed one of the several AP exams she took. And, she really thinks she has a chance to be accepted at Yale. Therefore, misinformation is more harmful, than accurate represenation.
