Transfering into Wharton

I currently am a senior at the International Academy in Michigan. I am a direct admit into the Kelly business school at Indiana University. So far, this is the only business school that I have applied to (besides Michigan State). My career goal is to become an investment banker and from what I have heard, one must attend one of the top schools for both undergrad and grad schools.

Consequently, I am interested in transferring into Wharton. My current high school GPA is not high enough to be considered at Wharton (mostly because of my freshman year). How would going to Indiana for a year and attempting to transfer into Wharton work? I understand I must have a 3.9 roughly to be considered but since Wharton has a four year program where Kelly has a three year program I am a little confused.

Also,I have applied to Emory University as well. Would I be better (if accepted) to attend Emory for one or two years and transfer?

Thank you in advance!

I would choose the school you like the first time without worrying about Wharton. The transfer rates are so low that you should not expect to get in regardless of record. You can make it into IB with a top tier grad school and good work experience. Kelly should definitely provide you with the opportunity for that.

Would I be better off at Kelly or Emory?

For transferring into Wharton it shouldn't matter very much, or at all. Both offer great business educations. You should try to visit each and see which school you prefer most, as they are both great schools.

i might be wrong but i think it is more confusing than that transferring into wharton because frshmen year you are given certain requirement courses that i think if you dont take it would just confuse the whole process so I would assume trying to go to a school with a 4 year program would probably be better.
