I'm a sophomore right now at a university in New England with a 3.1 GPA. I had planned on applying to Northeastern University earlier this, however, I never got around to doing it because I did not believe I would be able to get the financial support. Last week I decided that I would apply, so on Friday I got the necessary recommendations and had my transcript sent out so that it would get there by the May 1st deadline. I just noticed on the admissions page that it says that you need to submit a completed application and all supporting materials well before the deadlines. I'm guessing this is because of limited spots. Does anyone know how badly this will effect my chances? If I am denied and apply my junior year to Northeastern will it be even harder to get in because I am in my junior year? I believe my best course of action at this point is to take a tour of the campus and speak to admissions. Any advice or recommendations is appreciated. Thanks.

I would say get your application in asap and hope for the best. You never know. If things don’t work out, apply again for your junior year. Usually it is easier not harder to get in junior year as there are fewer applicants so you have more of a chance at acceptance. My son transferred in his junior year.
