right now i think i want to study engineering, but i may just want to study math and physics, im not really sure right now. lets say i apply to seas and get in. over the summer im going to have an engineering internship, so if i learn i hate engineering, can i transfer to cas before school starts, or can i spend the first semester in seas, but take all my classes in cas and then transfer? how does it work?

It is easier to transfer from SEAS to CAS than from CAS to SEAS. The only difference in freshman year classes is at CAS you would be taking a language and at SEAS you would be taking an intro engineering course. The thing is if you transfer from SEAS to CAS so quickly, it may seem like you backdoored your way into Penn (less competition for SEAS than CAS) but if you transfer from CAS to SEAS so quickly, it seems more like you changed your mind.

will they care? i mean, technically, you've got admission. why are they gonna think badly of you if you explain your reaons honestly and clearly and then do well wherever you end up?

i really dont care much what someone else would think. id just like to know if its possible.

yes, it's possible to take a lot of CAS classes during your first year in SEAS but I'm not sure what your advisor is going to say

If you really like physics and math, you can take physics and math classes and load up on CAS classes for your first year. Then you can transfer after freshman year.
