transfering to a previously waitlisted

I was waitlisted at a couple schools (WashU, Emory) for the class of 2011 but now I'm considering transfering (from Brandeis) for spring 2008- Any advice or ideas about how being previously waitlisted will affect the transfer process? Also- there are other schools (Tufts, Brown) that I LOVE but it's too late for a spring transfer- should I just wait and apply for a fall transfer there or go ahead and apply at the previously waitlisted schools?

lol, i saw you in the emory thread. Next time, please dont over post because then it looks like spam.

Anyways, Tufts and brown do not accept spring transfers. If you are desperate, then go ahead and apply to WashU and Emory. I dont know why you want to transfer from Brandeis, it seems like you havent been there long enough to see if you like it (i know i will get bashed for this, but brandeis is a private school people! its not ucla! i.e. smaller class sizes)

Why do you want to transfer to emory if you love brown? hmm....

sorry- i figured more people would see it in the transfer forum rather than the individual schools' forums

wait, i thought wash u didnt accept freshmen spring transfers. thats what they told me when i called and asked...

"If you are in your first year of college, you must present at least one completed semester of full-time college work with your application for Transfer admission or submit a completed Mid-Semester Progress Report." from the site

I've spoken to my transfer admissions rep on the phone/e-mail and she was perfectly aware that I am a current freshman who had been waitlisted for the fall so I'd say it's fine...

ahhhhhh! i did read that on the website, but when i called they told me to apply for the fall since i was a freshmen! but i was waitlisted too, so i'll call again i guess

“i know i will get bashed for this, but brandeis is a private school people! its not ucla! i.e. smaller class sizes”

I’m not entirely sure what your point was there- all of the schools I’m looking at are private with small class sizes…

duh, thats my point. You are in a private school, you have no reason to transfer.

i’d say not having any courses in one of my main interests is a decent reason to consider a transfer
