Hi guys ^^
I'm an international student who is currently enrolling at Towson University in Maryland. I've been there for the first semester and now I'm thinking of transfering to Binghamton University. I got 3.9 GPA last semester and I was an IB student. I have been accepted to University of Buffalo before but due to my family financial problem, I couldn't make it...so now I'm considering transfering. Can you please give me some advice on the school admission, or just your opinions regarding BU?
Thanks a lot.

Confusing title, because BU = Boston University.
With your excellent GPA you’re a strong transfer candidate, but have you got the finances worked out?

Thank you so much
Btw, thought Binghamton was cheaper than Buffalo?

hey sweetpotato nice to finally see some transfers around here. 3.9 is really high i say you have a great chance. I actually currently attend Drexel and i have a 3.62 but I used to attend CUNY Baruch before that and had an overall 2.9 so I’m hoping they take me. Good luck, I hope we both make it

I have around a 3.33 over all. Really hoping that I can get in.

I applied to Harpur so good luck to both of you as well.

The SUNY prices (at least for the moment) are all the same. There is no price difference (in tuition- living expenses may vary) between Buffalo and Binghamton.

^Only tuition is consistent among all of the SUNY schools. Fees can add several thousand to the cost and are set by the individual schools. I believe UB has had higher fees for several years now.

I’m not sure if this is true, but I’ve heard that it’s actually easier to get into Binghamton as a transfer than as a freshman. You could always check the admissions page. Anyway, you’re probably getting in. I know a transfer who had a 3.8 GPA and she got in. Good luck!

Your a strong candidate…good luck! Depending on how many credits you completed they could request SAT scores and the like. sk8rmom is correct about the fees so do your budget. Housing and Meal Plan are variable too. Not being a NYS resident is a plus…SUNY keeps out of state rates low to encourage students to attend school in NY with the hope that they like it and stay.
