transfering to emory

I was waitlisted at emory for the class of 2011 but now I'm considering transfering (from Brandeis) for spring 2008- Any advice or ideas about how being previously waitlisted will affect the transfer process?

Being wait-listed means you’re qualified to be a student at Emory, but for whatever reason you were passed over. So you know that your high school record and SATs won’t hold you back when you apply for transfer admission.

I think that a good college GPA (3.5+) will get you easily accepted, especially if you’re a male. ( transfer acceptance rate is higher for males)

I just spoke with an Emory advisor and he informed me that it is easier to transfer into emory than to apply as a freshman. You will need either 28 or 30 credits from an acredited institution before Emory would consider your application without requesting to see your highschool transcript and standardized test scores. But you’ll probably do fine either way, no worries.

Emory doesn’t require ACT scores for transfer students over 30 credits???

Thats what they told me; as long as the student has attained over 30 credit hours at an a credited instituion they wont require Standardized test scores.

Hey emorse, I am a senior this year and am trying to decide which school (Brandeis or Emory) to apply early to. I feel I have good shots early decision at both and was wondering if you could offer me any insight to what you liked/disliked about each school, what is making you think of transferring etc… I would really appreciate your help :)
