Transfering to MSU

So let's say you don't get in right out of high school, how hard is it to go to community college and transfer when you get the required credits?
I also thought it said 28 credits are required so what if you get those in a year, is there a minimum time period?
Do you need to take courses from the list of required classes at msu for the credits to transfer?
The last question is which is better, transferring from university to msu or cc to msu?

Sorry for the millions of questions but I'm kind of confused on the matter.

A good rule of thumb is that a 3.5+ will get you in. 3.0-3.5 is toss-up and <3.0 is reach.

There is no minimum time period. You could apply after one semester if you want. After 28 credits they no longer require your ACT/SAT or high school transcripts.
You also need to complete an English class that transfers as a WRA class as well as at least MTH 1825 ([Transfer Admission Criteria - Admission | Michigan State University Office of Admissions](http://admissions.msu.edu/admission/transfer_criteria.asp)) <- See that.

Honestly, CC or university is not better. It is really what you do there, the classes you take and how well you do, that will get you in.

This [Transfer Guides | Michigan State University Office of Admissions](http://admissions.msu.edu/transferguide/default.asp) and [Transfer MSU: Browse by Institution](<a href=“Transfer MSU: Web page not found”>Transfer MSU: Web page not found) this will help you with transferring credit.

Best of luck to you :).

How hard is it to go to community college and then transfer?

Not hard at all. MSU accepts plenty of transfers from other universities and community colleges. Transferring from other universities is probably a tiny bit easier only because there are more established credit equivalencies (making it easier for you to get MSU credit).
