Transfering to NYU

Hi, I am currently a sophomore at notre dame. I was just wondering what my chances would be of being accepted as a transfer student at NYU Stern.

H.S. Stats
4.22 gpa weighted
top 8%
33 ACT

Notre Dame
3.54 gpa
numerous e.c.'s/service

thanks a lot for any help/feedback!

I don’t believe your HS stats will play a role in their admissions seeing as you are currently a sophomore. With only your GPA given, I would say its a reach. You should elaborate more on your ECs.

what about for me if I go to community for 2 semesters? and apply as a spring transfer? I have a 4.12 in high school for weighted gpa, 1850 sats, and 3.5 as a current college gpa. I will be going to community if i dont get into any of my top schools and i wasnt accepted to NYU. is it a reach for me even if i had good stats in hs? well apparently not good enough but compared to other transfers, it might be.

michigankid, I’d say you have a good chance.

babygrl9205, it’s unlikely considering NYU rejected you out of HS. If you apply after your first year of college, your HS stats will still play a big role in the decision process. With that said, a strong year at college might put you over the edge.

By the way, I transferred to NYU from a school comparable to Notre Dame.

lol babygrl9205, please stop changing your stats, it’s not helping you. This is why you thought you’d get in ED and got rejected… Your sat’s are 1800 and on every chance post, you bump your gpa up even higher…
