Currently I have been admitted to anotehr UC for the spring, but I also have applied to UCB for the Fall of 08, and won't have an answer until April. So my question is...if I decide to go ahead and attend the UC I was admitted to while I wait for an answer from UCB, will that hurt my chances of getting admitted to UCB?? or should I just tell my UC I want to wait until fall to start so I can make sure I don't hurt my UCB admission chances.

To my knowledge, once you send in the SIR to a UC, it “takes you off the market” to all the other UCs. SIRs deadline for all UCs is May 1st (I think). So no need to rush yeah?

He’s been accepted, as a transfer student from what I gather, for the Spring quarter at some other UC campus, which starts in the next month or so. Thus it is quite urgent.

That is correct, I have been admitted to another UC starting in a couple months.

My question is… If I start at the school I have been admitted to BEFORE I get an admissions decision from UCB, will that hurt my chances of being admitted to UCB?? In other words, will attending another UC hurt my chances of being admitted to UCB.

Cal departments don’t like people taking classes at universities that run on quarter systems. They’d prefer that you spend spring SEMESTER 08 at a California Community College
