Transfering to UCD

i just got accepted to UCD and was given a relatively good f.a packet… i really like the campus but i still cant decide wether to go here or sacstate because ive heard that the quarter system is pretty tough. im a hard worker and i enjoy fast paced environments but i wonder if im putting myself up for failiure. im a sociology major so if i can get some advice from other soc majors at UCD out there…

I was also a transfer student. I don’t know how long summer classes are at the community college you are transferring from, but the quarter system is similar, with the difference being that it’s a few weeks longer (at the community college I attended prior to transferring, summer session was 8 weeks long. In contrast, the quarter system is 10 weeks long, with the 10th week being finals week). So if you’ve taken summer classes before at your community college, then that’s similar to how fast the quarter system will be like. While on the semester system, you won’t have your first midterm until the 6th or 7th week, on the quarter system, you’ll find that midterms will start coming up around the 3rd or 4th week.

so do you happen too know if thats the same for all UC;s? i just got accepted to UCLA and would rather go there but im not sure how the quarter system there would be…

UC Berkeley and UC Merced are on the semester system unlike the rest of the UCs. I don’t know anything about the other UCs’ quarter system other than UCD’s, unfortunately.
