Transfering to UCONN?

I am currently a freshman at Eastern CT State University. I have a 3.54 GPA average for fall 2011 semester. I have been taking general classes, like psyc, soc, eng 100, etc. I am undecided right now. I want to transfer to Uconn, but im not sure if its worth applying until spring semester of sophmore year because you need to have 45 Credits in order for them to not look at your highschool transcript and SAT/ACT scores. I got a 3.1ish in highschool and a 22 on my ACT. Should i apply for sophmore year or wait until second semester? Also, is it a good idea to transfer Undecided?

*Note, I am a really good writer, and i can write a great essay that is required for transfers

I think you should wait and build up your credentials. A 3.54 is good but it’s only a semester’s worth of grades therefore as you stated your high school record will come into play.

Wait until next year, maintain the grade trend, select general courses that will transfer, and maybe by next year you’ll already have an idea of your major. I believe UCONN has articulation with ECSU so I would also check the website and see what courses would transfer. Also, try talking to someone either at your current school or UCONN to start drafting a plan for next year. Good luck.
