Transfering to UCSB

I have not been able to find much information concernig how difficult to it is to transfer into UCSB. I plan on applying to UCSB along with several other schools this coming fall for an engineering major. After my first year i have a gpa of about 3.65 and will finish all my general education by the end of the next academic year. Does anyone here know the average of people who transfer into UCSB, and more so for the engineering college if they know.

It's about a 3.2-3.3.

Is it true? I heard it is 3.4-3.7

"Is it true? I heard it is 3.4-3.7"

Then you heard wrong. UCSB is one of the easiest to get into for transfers.

For Letters & Science you can do a transfer agreement and get guaranteed admission with a 3.0 as well.

Transfer Applicant Statistics (Fall 2005 Entering Class)

Applicants: 8,630

Admitted: 5,460 (63%)

Enrolled: 1,343

* 3.20 mean GPA

* 95% California residents

* 2% residents of other states

* 2% foreign residents
* 1% unknown

2% residents of other states?thats SICK.

This is very good to here in case I do not get into UCLA or UCB. Considering that the school does offer a great education and social life, if this is where I end up I will not regret it(but thats over a year away!!!!).

Yep, all the UCs are good schools and provide good opportunities.

they're HELLA wicked to out of state students though when it comes to admissions and financial aid.But you guys dont have to worry about that so w/e--

I think UCSB has very few out of state applicants.

With all this said, ISLA VISTduring HALLOWEEN IS INSANE!!!

Although UCSB is relatively easy to get into as a transfer student, I know the engineering program is pretty good. At least that what I hear. A 3.65 should cut it though for UCSB.

A 3.65 is overqualified as a transfer applicant to UCSB.
