Transfering to USC- Questions about writing 130

I'm currently at UW and thinking about applying as a transfer student to USC this comming year. I was looking over the transfer worksheet and noticed that we needed to have writing 130 completed before we transfer. I'm curious as to which writing class would be equivilant at UW. I've looked at English 131 which is an english composition course with a focus on exposition. The other one I've looked at is what will cause me some problems. It's technical communications 231 whic is intro to technical writing. This class requires us to be sophomores and being a freshman I dont think I can get in. I'm not sure if I should as the UW advisors as they may not like the fact that we're asking for help to leave their university but at the same time calling USC advisors now may not be the best idea either since I'm not a student there. Does anybody know the UW course that is equivilant to Writing 130 at USC or does anybody have any ideas as to how I may find out?

Thanks,
Ewiper

Would definitely give a call to USC, the adviser for your area. They'll help you figure out which course you need & do it all the time to help kids who are interested in transferring. You can find your admissions' counselor at this website. Good luck!

well I checked my OASIS transfer pre-approval from and it said that both those courses transfer for elective credit. However, that's probably because I'm a current student and I'm not allowed to receive WRIT-130/140 credit through transfer.

I would double check with a USC advisor. If you call them up they are more than willing to tell you which courses transfer - if they don't know then you can even send them a link to the UW online course catalogue and they'll figure it out for you. Remember, they want you to apply, so they're going to be helpful about it.
