Transfering to UT for ASE

Hi,

I am currently attending ACC for a general engineering associates degree. I currently have a 4.0. However, my math and physics aren't up to par. I am taking precal this semester, so I have quite a few maths left to take for ASE.

I talked to my adviser at ACC and he recommend I transfer to UT ASAP while my gpa is high. However, I'd imagine keeping a 4.0 at UT would be more difficult taking higher level math without the one to one contact with the instructors, making an internal transfer more difficult. I also prefer the tuition cost at ACC.

Should I transfer though? or should I complete my associates at ACC then transfer? What else can I do to stand out? I'll be joining Phi Theta Kappa this coming year which I've heard helps... What will provide me with the best opportunity of getting in? Thanks.

Anyone…?

Really no point in transferring into engineering if you haven’t passed calc 1-3 and the calc based phyics sequence.

Okay, that’s what I thought. I think he was talking about just transferring in general to become an internal transfer later on. However, I think that would affect my gpa for the worse. Once I complete the cal sequence and my eng physics should I transfer in or just complete my associate?

I would complete the calc sequence, physics sequence and chem sequence along with any other pre-req and transfer. No point in getting an AA or AS.
