hey guys i'm an up and coming student at a large public school down in VA. I'm happy with where i'm at but at the same time i had dreams of going to UVA/WM...and rutgers well its back up at home and i have no issue going there.

I was just wondering how i would stand againt UVA/William and Mary in a transfer for next year i heard rumor that WM has a 52%acceptance rate if someone could clarify that for me that'd be apprecited.

Here are some stats of mine
High school
GPA: 3.4
SAT: 1700
6 AP Courses, AP Scholar
A lot of ec's skilled musician as well.
3 SAT 2's 600's in each

Currently in college
5 Courses 16 credits

hopefully crossing fingers i can get at least a 3.5 getting a 3.7 though is definently possible at the rate i'm going.

anyways do i stand a chance at well UVA/WM/Rutgers?

i guess i should've been more specific i live next to rutgers new brunswick so by home i meant that. I had gotten into newark from the get go but i wasen't a fan of it too much.

UVA is ridiculously hard to get in OOS. Especially as a transfer, and especially with only a decent HS record (most OOS kids coming in as first years have 3.8-4.2s). You'll need 3.8+ for the first semester, and I'd advise you to do super well second semester (4.0) and have mid term grades sent in. Work hard on your essays (I spent 2 months on mine, and I'm pretty sure it's what got me accepted on top of my pretty decent grades). Have a decent resume that will stand out. That's my best advice: do super well, because OOS admissions are really tough, on top of the already difficult IS admission standards. Google UVA admissions blog, there's a transfer one. Good luck.

PS- I love it here at UVA. Wouldn't change the situation for a million bucks, and don't regret the move at all, and I haven't looked back once (other than I came from VT and VT is in the news practically weekly still)
