I am trying to dual major in Physics and Cognitive Science at UCSD but I am having problems getting around the unit cap.

The unit cap for dual majors is 240 units, I will be transferring in with IGETC done and only 3 lower division classes missing so I can complete the two majors in 233 units. UCSD doesn't accept IGETC as full completion of GEs though. Of the UCSD colleges, Revelle seems to have the lowest GE requirements for me since I only need to complete 3 more second language courses worth 7.5 units total. This still puts me above the 240 unit max.

I didn't realize that they even had upper division GEs until just a few weeks ago so it is too late to register for my first second language class until spring so my only option is to take a class during the summer and at another CC near UCSD after I transfer.

My question is, I have already reached the 105 unit cap for transferable units, does this cap remain after I am accepted/enrolled at the school? If I take courses at a CC after transferring, will those units be added on to my UCSD units?
