Hello, I have been attending community college for 2 years but I just have been taking my general classes because I was undecided on my major. I only have 2 more general classes left which I will take in the summer. But now that I decided to choose physical therapy I found out that I still have to go to community college for 3 more years, but I want to transfer already, I don’t want to go to community college for more than one year. So my question is, can I choose another major, communications or onother one that will allow me to transfer asap and then once I get into a university change my major? I really want to stay with physical therapy but my parents won’t allow me to stay 3 more years at a community college.
Most Universities do not allow students to change to a pre-health major once transfered due to the competative nature. My advice would be to stay at a community college for one more year and take as many chemistry and biology classes as you can. I also recommend going on assist.org for more information on transferring with specific majors.
I currently am finishing up my last semester at Orange Coast Community College and will be attending UCSD next fall!
I also want to transfer to UCSD but my counselor told me that I still need like 15 classes of biology, physics, etc. which would probably take me 3 years.
