Would it be a disadvantage to transfer alot. For example if I did got a bad score on my SAT, then I stayed in-state for my frosh. Then I want to transfer to Stony Brook in my soph, then in my junior year, I want to transfer to NYU. Would it look bad on my record for entering a med school?

One transfer is certainly well-understood. Two, to me, starts to raise the question of what you're doing and why. Are you making poor choices? Just unable to commit? Trying to leverage each school as a stepping stone? Some places might not care, but I know I would have a lot of questions to ask.

And maybe you have a good answer, in which case that will come out (it had better!) during interviews and essays. But I'm skeptical.

What if I go from a NY community college first, then Stony Brook, then NYU?

Above still applies.

Haha. Then so recommend me not to then? I just want to try schools...and the environment..

Yeah, that's not a good reason.

As a graduate of NYU, I want to warn you about this. You don't "try" NYU by going to the school for your junior and senior years of college - you need to visit the campus and surrounding areas, talk to current students, and check out some of the school's institutions like the Office of Financial Aid and the Kimmel Student Center. NYU is not for everyone, and it can be very hard even for transfer students who definitely want to be there. Blithely transferring into the school is not something I can recommend.

"I just want to try schools...and the environment.."

If you want to do that, try a study abroad or domestic exchange.

Haha. Instead of NYU..UC Irvine?

You should have an actual reason to transfer. You can sit around and recite all the schools you want, and that's not going to change.

Thank you tho.

Transferring once is fine... more than that and it looks like you have issues with commitment. The last thing a medical school wants is to invest resources in a student who might be only wanting to "try" their school and the environment. You better have a exceptional reason why you transfer a second time if you are really intent upon it. That being said, I would look into exchange programmes if you really want to get the feel of different schools and environments.
