Transferred schools end of junior year...

Hey all. I went through a bit of a personal dilemma this year and had to transfer schools in May, which is about one month before the end of junior year here. Now, at this new school, I have no ECs, activities, and barely know my teachers. So obviously this causes a problem, because I was set on applying to some top schools, but I don't know how great my chances are now.

First of all, how do I emphasize this rather unfortunate situation I was put in? I loved my old school, had a bunch of things going right, but suddenly it's taken away from me.

Second, what do I do EC-wise? It'll probably be near impossible to get any sort of leadership position.

Third, what do I do for teacher recommendations? I understand that you're supposed to ask your junior teachers for them, correct? Should I try asking my old teachers for recs - and is that allowed?

Thanks for any help. If any of you have been in the same situation of transferring schools during high school, I'd like to know what you did, also.

I don’t see why you wouldn’t ask your junior year teachers for recommendations, and I think even if you have to take one of them as a supplemental recommnedation you should because the letter might explain your position and reason for transferring schools. Although, I don’t have any actual experience in cases like this.

Best of luck!
