So since I have about a month to go, I just wanted to see what you guys thought of my chances:

HS GPA:
3.3 UW w/ full AP courseload
Freshman Mentor, Debate awards, Academic Superbowl and Debate team leadership positions
2170 SAT I, 800/730/630 SAT IIs (math, us history, bio)
National Merit Scholar

College GPA:
3.97 Bio Major, Dean's List 2x, 2 A+s in Chemistry
Indian Club
Doing Independent Research on Brain Cancer for credit for the past 2 quarters
Really Good Recs

I think my essays are pretty decent too, as my main essay was about me teaching my grandpa and four of his friends hwo to use computers in India...so what do you guys think?

hmm i would say you have a pretty good chance your HS GPA might hurt but i am not sure how much of a factor that is. You are a freshman right? I am in a similar situation, however i still have to do my Freshman year im going to UPenn if i dont get off of the Stanford Waitlist this yr and prolly will transfer next year. Good Luck Yaar!

take a look at the Stanford Common Data set. it shows that Stanford only accepts 5% of transfer applicants, which is half the freshman rate., It also shows this:

Percentage of all enrolled, degree-seeking, first-time, first-year (freshman) students who had high school grade-point averages within each of the following ranges (using 4.0 scale). Report information only for those students from whom you collected high school GPA.

Percent who had GPA of 3.75 and higher: 94%

thanks for that link menloparkmom ; I'm sadly aware that my HS GPA is my achilles heel in my application, but does anyone know how much weightage is given to it in comparison to my recs, essays, and college gpa?
