I currently attend Villanova University as a freshman and I'm applying to several different schools as a transfer student for the Spring 2012 term. All my applications are filled out and almost ready to get sent before the deadline, but I'm a little confused about one thing. All the deadlines for the applications to transfer are before any grades are put on my transcript at Villanova. What do they want from a transcript with no grades? For example, Cornell's deadline is Oct 3, 2011, and they of course want my transcript. Am I supposed to send it without grades? Just the course work?

Pretty sure Cornell has a credit requirement… Go check because the last time I looked, it was something like you can’t apply unless you have taken summer classes prior to freshman year.

Besides Cornell though, just in general - to schools that allow you to apply as a freshman second semester, what do they want from your transcript?

They will see your coursework, and possibly later they may ask for a mid-term report. However, when you apply for spring of fr year, the understanding is that most of your decision will be based on your HS record, test scores, etc. What makes (hopefully) your transfer application different from your fr application would be things that occurred late in your sr year, for instance, honors, continued upward trend in grades, summer coursework, etc. Spring of fr year is also a time for people to apply who perhaps didn’t apply to that school as a sr or turned it down for another school.

thank you so much! thats more of the answer i was looking for :)
