Transferring after first year?

<p>I'm currently a freshman at the University of Michigan and I'm thinking about transferring to Michigan State next fall. I know it sounds like a terrible idea considering how I want to go Medical after graduation, but I've found that I'm not really enjoying my time at my current university. Academics would have absolutely nothing to do with my decision, in fact I'd really only take the idea seriously if I got ~4.0 this year. The main reason is that I don't really fit in here. I could go in depth, but there really isn't anything more to say. </p>

<p>What I really want to know is how this would affect my chances at getting into medical school? I'd transfer after this semester but I want time to build my grades to maximize financial aid.</p>

<p>@Val, you don’t owe anyone here an explanation, but you will have to explain this to the MS. I’ve been told one of their main concerns is someone quitting on them. Each seat is precious and every MS makes an investment in each student. They will be wary of anyone they think could be a quitter.</p>
