Transferring after one semester - credits question

I am currently in my first semester at a four year university. I was accepted as a freshman, but I had a significant number of credits from AP and dual enrollment classes that were transferred and counted by my university. I am now looking at transferring to a different four year university for either the spring 2017 or fall 2017 semester. My question is, when applying, will the university I’m applying to count all of the credits I have earned from ap, dual enrollment, and my current university combined (around 50 hours), or will they only count the hours I have earned from my current university (18 at the end of the semester). I am asking because it would make a significant difference in the scholarships I would be offered, according to the university’s net price calculator. If anyone has any insight, it would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

You need to ask each place what their policy is about this. It really is OK to do that.

I’ll ask them to start staffing their offices on Sundays while I’m at it. I will ask them if I need to, thanks for the advice.

Hmmm, OP interesting response. Maybe @happymomof1 was givng a helpful answer. Aren’t you asking everyone in CC to do you a favor and be helpful to you? Maybe I should charge a fee for my advice, which is to pick up the phone tomorrow morning and call for yourself. That will be $20 please.

@Lindagaf I posted a question, which no one is obligated to give an answer to. I am very grateful when posters on cc give me helpful answers. However, I found @happymomof1 's response to be condescending, and not particularly helpful, so I responded with humor.
In general, even if a particular question is best answered by just calling and asking, I like to find out more about it before I make the call so that I am reasonably informed on the topic before asking an in depth question such as this. I feel better knowing what other students have experienced in a situation similar to my own so that I have an idea of what to expect.
Be my guest to find someone who would like to pay you for your advice

You arent humorous, you are snarky. Happymomof1 gave you a good answer. After nearly 24,000 posts it’s probably fair to say she knows what she is talking about. It totally depends on each college’s policy. A kid at College X can’t tell you what College Y’s policy is.

Again, I found the post condescending, and not helpful. I think it’s fairly obvious, and can go without saying that MANY of the questions that are posted here about university would be best answered directly by the university. Yet here we have an entire website dedicated to people asking questions about university, hmmm

What was at all condescending about that post…?

Maybe it’s your attitude Mandy. Sheesh. Has it occurred to you that maybe that is the best answer you will get. You willget more flies with sugar than vinegar. Good luck with your future.

Because of course once you find out what happened to one student in the past at one particular university, all colleges that you could consider are bound to follow that same standard in the future.

Do you really want to encourage people to throw in answers even if they’re not knowledgeable about the problem? The people who will know best, who will be sure to give you correct information, work at the universities. We’re random people on the internet. You could get a high school student answering your question with all the authority in the world – as if they would know definitively. So you got the answer that will lead you to the most correct information with the lowest likelihood of resulting in a negative outcome for you. That’s a win in my book.

LOL. My intended point is that it is indeed OK for you to contact the transfer admissions offices and ask about their institution’s policies. A lot of students are afraid to do that. There isn’t any reason to be. Their whole job is to answer the questions that applicants have.

The post by @happymomof1 was not condescending. You were looking for spoonfeeding. Since we don’t know what schools you’re looking at or their policies no one here can give you definites. The only ones that can are your schools.

Then you should do some of your own research. I assume the schools you are looking at have web pages?
