Hey guys, I'm new here, and made an account to talk about this topic specifically. So the deal is that I'm a recently graduated high school senior going to Illinois State in the fall, but I'm not sure if it will be for me. I'm going to go down there and tough it out for a semester or two to see if I like it, though. I was thinking of transferring to University of Illinois in Chicago after a semester, but I'm not sure how that would work out. I looked into things, and I'm not sure if I can transfer after 1 semester. Does anyone know if I could do that? And if anyone was curious as to why I was considering transferring, it's because I feel like I'm going to ISU because I have to. It wasn't my top choice, and I was going to Purdue before deciding it was too expensive, so I'm not sure I want to go to ISU. I was unfortunately lazy with the college application process, so I feel like that's finally catching up with me. Anyone have any experience transferring, maybe even specifically to UIC? If I do go to UIC, I'll probably end up commuting instead of living in, since I live in the suburbs of Chicago. Either that or pay obscene amounts to live 30 minutes away. So if anyone has some advice for me, please let me know. I'm terrified of this whole college business. So thanks for reading and for any help I might receive. Also, I plan on majoring in accounting if that has any bearing on things.

UIC’s transfer requirements can be found on their website: [UIC Admissions and Records - Transfer](Transfer Requirements | UIC Admissions)

I also find collegeboard.org to be particularly helpful.

Wait it out at ISU and try not to set your heart on anything. You’ll figure things out.

UIC will view you as a new applicant if you have less than 30 hours in credit. New students are only allowed to start in the fall.
