Transferring and Changing to a completely differet majors

<p>I attended Rutgers University for my freshman year and i was in the 6 year pharmacy program. However, i was dismissed from the program because i didn't reach the minimum GPA to stay in the program. Thinking about my other options, i realized that i really didn't want to pursue pharmacy anymore and that i wanted to change my major to Hospitality Management. That was one of the majors that i wanted to do before, however pressure about what is more practical made me choose pharmacy. Because my major before is completely different, i don't know where to start. I don't know if i should first try to major in finance in a business school, then try to go to grad school to get an MBA in hospitality management? Or to just apply to undergrad hospitality management programs? Also, i don't even know if i can get into a hospitality management program because most of the courses i took my freshman year of college were science courses. So i might just go to a community college for a year then try to apply. Any other suggestions as to what i can do?</p>

my hs GPA: 3.3
SAT scores: 730CR/750M/650W
SAT II scores: 770 Chinese 720 Math II</p>

<p>Are you sure business is what you want to do?
Is money a factor? If not, Rutgers has a good business program.</p>

<p>Rutgers is a good school, and with that college GPA it is doubtful that you will be accepted at a better university. I would stay at Rutgers and change majors. I am not sure how Rutger’s curriculum works but if they have some sort of liberal arts/general education courses then you should be able to count your freshmen courses.</p>

<p>I would stay at rutgers, but my parents don’t want to pay out of state because its really expensive…nd they dont think its worth it unless im in pharm school…soo im trying to transfer back to umcp. because its cheaper nd the business schl is supposed 2 be better…but i doubt im goin to get in…i think changing my major now is a little too late =/ i mite just stick with pharmacy ughhhh im REALly indecisive about this. what should i dooo??</p>

Think about what it is you want to do.
Enroll in a CC, then transfer to UMCP.</p>
