I'm a bit new to all this college stuff so it gets confusing for me. I plan to transfer to a UC from an out-of-state community college (low chance I know). Here are some questions I hope you guys could clear up for me.

What does junior transfer mean? Is it based on years of study or on your amount of credits?

If I transfer as a junior, do I have to immediately get into the college of engineering or can I still complete my other requirements at the UC then apply for the College of Engineering? I wasn't able to get into calculus right from high school so I had to take pre-calc which means I need 3 years to finish my requirements.

Because Engineering (and the general admission process) is so competitive at the UCs, you MUST complete ALL general education and major prerequisite requirements to be considered for admission. Missing required courses will significantly lower your chance if not altogether make you ineligible for admission.
