transferring and then internally transfering to wharton as a junior

if you are in the college of arts and sciences, you may pursue a dual degree by internally transferring to wharton.

however, i believe if you are a junior, you are denied that ability. i imagine there are exceptions to rules, so has anyone heard of a student transferring to wharton as a junior, or personally done so themselves? what if you take all of wharton's curriculum during your upenn undegrad years, and do well? can they retroactively grant you a wharton degree before you graduate?

also, this situation is for a transfer who is transferring into the CAS next fall. i imagine a way around it would be to ask for less credits and receive sophomore standing, because as transfers, you need to personally go to each department and petition for credits.

Wharton says right on their website that any transfers to the University of Pennsylvania that did not apply originally for the business school (Wharton) will not be allowed to transfer to Wharton. However, this does not preclude you from taking classes at Wharton--which many people do and then use as a stepping stone to be recruited by great companies.

P.S. This non-internal-transfer after transferring also applies to the Stern business school at NYU--and also applies to junior transfers to USC who may want to later switch over to the Marshall business school.

my question was regarding the dual degree, not transferring into the business school

When it says you can't transfer, that means you can't receive a degree from that school (no chance of being a dual major with Wharton as one of them). (No they do not award you a Wharton degree retroactively).

You can, however, minor in business--which is what I was pointing out--by taking many courses from the school. Recruiters take many people out of the CALS area who have Wharton as their minor into very prestigeous jobs, including many into investment banking positions.

Best of success to you.
