Transferring AP Hours

Can anyone explain to me about the tranferring of AP hours. I didn't get in, so I'm trying to figure how many hours I need to take before I can transfer, as I'm assuming my appeal probably won't be accepted. I've taken four AP throughout my high school career, so If anyone could give me some information, that would be fantastic.

AP hours do not count for purposes of when you are eligible for transferring in. YOu have to have 40 completed hours at a university (not exempted) BEFORE you apply. This means for most, you can't transfer in likely until a year and a half from now. I know someone who applied with 29 AP hours, 15 hours completed at another in the Fall, when the April deadline arrived, she was taking 17 .....was denied due to not enough hours of credit to meet the 40 hour requirement. I would call the Admissions office and get a very specific answer to this question.

On the UGA website, it says 30 hours, and those need to be due by the DEADLINE. Thank you though for the information though about the actual AP hours. I'm going to start this summer so I should have enough by April 1st.

I am sorry I meant 30. The problem is that they did not count the hours exempted by AP. You must have completed the hours so if you do summer and fall full loads you should be fine. Good luck.
