Transferring as an Engineer

Hey. I'm currently a freshman at a University who has been debating about transferring back east. I from the Boston area, but go to school in the midwest. The business school at my University is known for grade inflation; however, the engineering department, math department, and physics department do not operate that way. I was wondering if the 3.5 benchmark still holds for engineers when transferring or if the average GPA at most engineering schools is generally lower than the other average GPAs at colleges of the same Universities.

If I do apply I will only do so for fall '09.

Engineers almost always have the lowest GPA's of any majors at a any given college(except maybe math and physics majors). The curriculum is exponentially harder than that of a CFS/Business school major.

I think as long as your course is rigorous enough, a 3.4+ would be a benchmark. Keep in mind though, this is a minimum. In most cases aim for a 3.5 - 3.7
You still have two semester to improve your gpa if needed,

best
