Transferring between colleges at cornell?

How hard is it to transfer internally between colleges at Cornell? I was admitted to ILR, and I think that's where I want to be (I'm prelaw) but I'm not sure. How hard would it be to transfer to Arts and Sciences eventually if I changed my mind? Also, how much flexibilty is there to take non-ilr classes while in the ilr school? Thanks.

I don't know that ILR required courses off the top of my head, but I'm sure that you can find the answer on the ILR website:

As for transfering, see this website:

i've heard its pretty easy to transfer. thats what cornell told me. you need to meet requirements though. like for architecture you need a portfolio...

My friend it in Arts and Sciences and is transferring to engineering with no problem. He just had to take the entry level engineering courses before he could transfer.

Writing essays, interviews? That doesn't sound like cake to me.

It is very easy to transfer. I'm a freshman in ILR now and I have many friends who either left ILR after the first semester or are leaving after this semester because they found out that the curiculum was not right for them.

easy for the most part, and unless your grades really suck, or you just know you want to transfer out but dunno really where, direct transfers are just as easy if not easier than internal transfer.

essays were one paragraph answers to why this college and how will you take advantage of opportunities, etc. yawn. i only had one short meeting with a transfer counselor, he gave me all the paper work, and I was accepted during finals week. my friend found out sometime in January (we both applied to transfer last fall and both got accepted to our respective colleges)

Thanks very much for the help, I knew Cornell said it was easy to transfer, but its nice to hear the same thing from people who have been through it.

Which college at Cornell did you transfer from and to where, quynh2007?

I was planning on transferring so I am interested in the process as well. I applied to Arts and Sciences, but I want to transfer to Engineering. I had to apply to CAS because I didn't have a science SATII.
