I applied to Georgetown College because at the time, I saw myself pursuing more American Politics rather than anything to do with international politics. I had also heard that it was way harder to get into SFS (although it’s easier to transfer OUT of) so I didn’t want to take my chances to make my potential transferring easier when I’m not even sure if that’s what I want to study.
If I were to decide to transfer TO sfs, how easy would that be and when should I do it? I hear because of their requirements it’s hard and you’ll have to play catch up so it’s better to do it as soon as possible, but how soon? Is it possible to transfer before you even start classes, which is to say the summer before you start?
It’s possible to transfer before starting freshman year, but it’s difficult because admissions knows that a lot of people try to transfer in because they didn’t want to risk getting rejected by applying to the SFS. It’s more likely that you transfer after freshman year, which means you will have to play catch-up, but it’s possible. If you get in and you know you want to transfer, talk with your dean and see what your options are.
thank you so much! if i do get in, and decide to go, i think i’ll just try to explain that i didn’t apply because i never considered international anything as my career… thank you!
Aint gonna happen unless you’re the best from what I’ve heard
