I am a Freshman (undergraduate) at Indiana University. I am a direct admit to the Kelley School of Business. I was so excited to come here and on the second day I lost it. Ever since then I cannot stop feeling homesick and everytime I hear my dad's voice i cry. I want to transfer to a school closer to home (Chicago) but I don't know any that it as well-known as Kelley. I'm majoring in Accounting. I was looking at DePaul but I realized that I can't get into their accountancy honors program because I have to be a first time freshman there to be invited into that program. I'm so tired and sick of being here and it's only been 4 weeks. What should I do? Does anyone know what I can do? I'm so tired of this

And by the way, I promised my parents I would stay here for at least 1 year. I agreed with them that I would get better opportunities if I transferred Fall 2014.

Post this in the general transfer forum, not the UC transfers.

Not much can be done in the short term. You need to get out there and learn to be on your own. I don’t mean to be brash but it’s important you immerse yourself in the social life at IU. It’s a fun place to party, get out there and meet people!

Kelley is a great school especially if you’re interested in accounting. You can apply for transfer to Northwestern or some other schools closer to home after your freshman year but as for now you’ll have to suck it up.

Also, this isn’t the right forum for this post.
