What do admission officers usually look for in transfer essays?

The most important thing is to clearly set out why the new college is better for you than the one you are attending. i.e. is there a major that isn’t offered at your current school, is there a family issue where you need to be closer to home, is city life not for you???
You don’t want to be insulting to the current school, but you need to show that you have carefully researched the new school and “know” it is the place for you. Point out what has changed and what new things you have figured out that lead you to this conclusion.
