I was having a difficult time figuring out if it was possible to transfer my credits from the community college i go to in oregon right now to a community college in San Fransisco next year. At the end of this year here in oregon i will not have 90 credits yet. Can i still transfer my credits over? I asking my advisor at school but they didn’t really answer my question. I’m not sure if it is different since its not in the same state or what? Please help
This happens all the time. Just have your transcript sent to the new school. Admissions there will determine which classes will transfer. Being from a college in another state does not in itself affect much.
Most students move on from community college after having ~62 credits, so I’m a little confused about your concern about not having 90 credits yet.
I asked my advisor and he said i need 90 credits to transfer. Maybe he was having a rough day haha and thought i meant transferring to a 4 year college when really I was talking about community colleges. Thanks so much!!
Is your school on the quarter system? I think the 90 credits refers to quarter units, not semester units. 60 semester units = 90 quarter units
yes we are on the quarter system
