Transferring Credits from ACC

When a student transfers credits from ACC, does the grade count towards his GPA, or does UT just give "credit"?

UT will count it as just credit (same for everywhere you transfer).

Thanks, Xcellerator. That’s good to know.

Thanks, frever. I could have looked it up myself! Tsk.

haha don’t worry, I enjoy helping. That’s why I always come back  I’m taking study breaks from finals anyway

Didn’t realize that the link I posted was from 07-08…

So that means you start brand new in terms of gpa once you get to the university?

Today, my son requested that ACC send his transcript to UT. He took two summer classes at ACC, one for UT credit and one just to brush up on programming. Does he need to tell UT to ignore the programming class, or will they figure it out?

The registrar will check to see if the programming class has a UT equivalent course. If there is, then your son will get credit for the programming course, even if it is elective credit. Here is a link that can tell your son which courses will transfer and for which equivalent UT class(es):

Thanks for the link! It shows that he will get three hours in MIS (Management information systems).

That’s great, Maine. Every little bit helps. :)
