I'm going to be a freshman in college the fall but I don't like my college and the environment its in. Its in a small town and everything is so spread out and I don't feel welcomed there. I want to transfer to a college in the city during spring semester. I have to send a lot of information to that college to transfer, and they want my high school transcripts. Do I have to contact my high school for those transcripts or would my college that I'm going to have those and who do I go to at my college to talk to about transferring. I want to get as much of my information handed in so that I can get a spot at that new college in the spring. Feel free to include any information or advice about transferring.

You should directly contact your high school for your transcripts. I talked to my Dean of Students when I was thinking about transferring, but it’s mostly a hands off process for the administration at your current college. However, make sure that this college will take you for your second semester. Most colleges want to see a year of college work completed. Good luck!

Are you to late attend that college in the Fall?

Or, you could take this Fall semester off and to start the college that you like in the Spring semester.

I just called the college and she said that I can transfer in the fall! They want me to complete the transfer application through common app. I was wondering if I am suppose to have my high school counselor send my transcripts through there?
Also I plan on calling her back is there any other questions I should ask her?

You should contact your counselor immediately and ask her to submit your transcripts. For transfer applicants you can’t submit a transcript through the common app so you can ask for an official transcript and send it yourself.

My high school counselor or college and I meant spring not fall

High School. He/she will have your final transcript. Your college is unlikely to.
