If you try and transfer after your freshman year in college, how much will your HS record weigh in on your admissions decision? I didn't have a terrible HS record (3.45 GPA) but say I do well next year, will this hurt me in admissions? Schools i'm thinking about are Michigan, North Carolina, and possibly Virginia.

You're mentioning the schools you want to transfer into, I presume. Your college transcript will count for 30-50% of the decision with 10% each going to the difficulty of courses you take and where you take them. As for your HS GPA, it'll range between 15-20% of the decision & your SAT scores will not carry nearly as much weight.

Thank you! I'm not taking any honors courses, but there are no blow off courses in there though. Just the freshman english, math, psychology, and economics/business classes. So as long as it wasn't terrible, I should be alright?
