transferring for spring semester? has it been done?

I attend a small, pretty well known all girls liberal arts college and I was wondering what transferring for spring semester would entail. I felt like I wasn't ready to apply or even hold the mindset of transferring considering it's only been my freshman year, and told myself to stick it out with second semester. Now that a bit of time has passed, I'm still unsure my opinion of this school is getting better - the overly liberal social atmosphere, coupled with a very narrow minded perspective of every social issue out there, has been a little discouraging. The school's resources aren't as extensive as I had thought they would be, and the people are much more cliquey than imagined. And of course, the lack of guys has its benefits at times, but overall I feel like I'm missing out on a relaxed co-ed environment.

How does a person go about transferring for spring semester? Is it much harder to get in/transition? Anyone with experience or is potentially going through the same process please let me know!

Use the Search function for ‘spring’ and you’ll find many previous threads on this topic.

The first thing you need to do is check the college websites to see which colleges have spring transfers, not all do.

As far as difficulty of admission, I don’t know, but likely it varies between colleges.

It can be more difficult to transition, mainly because most students, both transfer and fr, enter in the fall. It also could be more difficult for housing since most students will already be established.

Finally, it could affect FA since most colleges have a limited amount and it is usually given out on a first come first served basis and not as much may be available for students entering in the spring.
