Transferring for Summer Semester, Skipping Spring?

I am from Florida, but in my first semester of college now at a school in Illinois and I am thoroughly unhappy and paying far too much, but because of deadlines, cannot transfer to USF for the spring.

I was wondering if it is a good idea to go home after the semester and take the Spring semester off and then re-apply for Summer semester, when I am able to send in transcripts and complete all prerequisite requirements to transfer.

Would not taking college courses in the spring hinder my chances of acceptance for the Summer term?
I would have a 3.6 college GPA over 15 credits with a 4.2/1400/34 ACT in High School, and enough AP credits to make up for the lost semester and still graduate in four years.

A semester off will not hurt your admission…
