@Andrew2018 You can double major from a commonwealth campus. You take the same kinds of classes at the commonwealth as you do at the UP campus. 60% of all PSU graduates start at a commonwealth so you will be in good company.
What do you mean Liberal or Moderate? There are liberal and conservative groups on campus, but from my perspective having gone to Penn State and now having kids there is that whatever you believe, you can find a group that also believes that. So if you are very liberal, you can join a very liberal club…conservative…same. But no one will give you difficulty regardless. What are concerned about getting difficulty about? Maybe that can help better answer your question.
I am pretty moderate,leaning conservative and I would like to go somewhere that does not show bigotry towards the other side because one of the subjects I would like to major in is Political Science. I do not mind if I encounter a liberal there,but I would want them to give me the same respect for my opinion as I would for theirs. My main concern was PSU-Main campus being an ultra liberal school.
@Andrew2018 It’s liberal…like most colleges are. But I don’t believe you will encounter people who don’t respect your opinion as long as you are also respecting theirs. There will always be the one off jerk but it’s not the norm.
I am not that type of person, I always respect my friends’ and or aquaintances’ opinions as long as they don’t harm me in any way.
Penn State ultra liberal? I don’t think so. It’s pretty middle-of-the-road IMHO.
That’s why I asked bc I did not know where PSU-Main Campus fell on the spectrum
Just to be clear, all degrees from any Penn State Campus say the same thing. The degree says The Pennsylvania State University regardless of campus. It does not differentiate
Call the Admissions Office
Your diploma says the college your degree is from – Smeal, College of Engineering, etc. Some branch campuses have named colleges like the Behrend College. This may be on your diploma. I have seen pictures with it. That would be a hint that you didn’t graduate from UP.
I don’t know for sure if transcripts do that too, but I would find it very strange if they didn’t.
Anyone know anything about the Berks campus?
Say you’re in Astrophysics, looking to change campus to main for sophomore year. But instead of the required 70 in physics you get a 69. Will they still let you change?
@mackintoshm You need to talk to an advisor – that’s too important to trust to secondhand info.
How is the Greek life at Erie and the party scene?
Also after transferring to University park, is it heard to fit in or get into the Greek life?
@obwian22 ^^^^^^^^^ greak life?
