Hi!

I just finished a year of undergraduate study at Penn State. Due to various circumstances, I will be relocating to California in August. I only have 47 credits.. and most transfer deadlines to UC, and Cal State schools have passed. So, I will be attending Pasadena City College for a semester.

My question is this: Since I will be transferring my credits from Penn State to Pasadena.. will MY GRADES transfer as well? Please, please respond!:) It will be greatly appreciated!

The courses will transfer but the gpa will not. Your gpa starts over at a new university.

Is that 47 semester or quarter and are you going to try to get into a UC school eventually? The biggest deal with that is whether or not your Community College will accept classes from Penn State to fulfill your general ed. requirements.

The GPA thing is sort of confusing, as far as I know you end up with 3 GPAs when you go to a 4 year again: your overall GPA (all the coursework you have taken, ANYWHERE) is what another 4 year will use for admissions, your transferrable courses GPA (the classes that will transfer to the new 4 year you will be attending, from both PSU and your CC), and your new GPA that is just classes you take from your new 4 year.

From what I have heard, when it comes to graduating with honors, the school uses your overall GPA; when it comes to scholarships and stuff, they will use your GPA from just that school.

I am not sure if any of that made sense... sorry.
