Hello everybody. I am a California Community College student and I am interested in transferring for the fall of 2019. I currently have half the prerequisites for the major done, and will have them all finished by the spring time. However, I will not be able to do my physics series at all because I was not able to get into the classes, too full. If I end up lucky, I may be able to enter the Physics class during winter and spring, however that will be after I submit my application. Even then, I will only have physics 1 and 2 completed.
I have a 3.2 Gpa right now… by the spring time it should be a 3.6-7 if I get all 4.0 for the rest of my classes.
I am interested in applying as a Computer Science major to Cal poly Pomona, UC Santa Cruz, UC Santa Barbara, UC Los Angeles, UC Berkeley, and UC Irvine.
What would my chances be if I do not have something as important as physics, being that computer science is such an impacted major?
3.2 college GPA is about the 25th percentile of UCSC admits for CS, according to https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter/transfers-major . The other UCs on your list have higher GPA ranges for CS admits.
Physics is not a requirement for UCSC CS (BA degree), UCI CS, or UCB CS (BA degree), though each school also has engineering-based CS/CSE options that require physics. Check http://www.assist.org to see which majors require or do not require physics.
3.2 won’t make you competitive at most of those schools and straight A’s henceforth doesn’t seem like a good bet. UCSC is probably your best bet. I’d suggest you follow the TAG framework for Santa Cruz to the letter.

Their threshold is jut 3.0 and, for CS is doesn’t look like Physics is required. - though, i just took a quick look so, confirm that yourself.
I’d also apply to a few less competitive schools - Sac, SF and UCR have solid programs and should be more accessible.
good luck.
Your admission will be based on your current GPA plus your Fall grades so target schools where a 3.2 will get you into a CS program. Having a 3.6-3.7 by Spring will not help your chances since the decisions will be made prior to the end of Spring Semester/Quarter.
I agree with @NCalRent that UCSC would be a very good choice to focus on for TAG and Cal Poly Pomona looks like a possible Match school. The rest of the UC’s will be a tough admit at this point and especially if Physics is a required pre-req.
You can gauge your chances using this link for UC Transfer GPA by major for each campus:

I see. Thank you for your reply.
Will my winter grades be counted as well?
If your Winter grades will be available by the time you do the TAU, then yes they will be counted which could help your chances. But for TAG, all required courses need to be completed by Spring prior to applying.
