Transferring from a CC to Vanderbilt?

Hey everyone :) Could anyone tell me their opinions on my chances for transferring from a CC to Vanderbilt? I'm planning to apply to the Peabody school, which is supposed to be a little easier to get into.

I'm currently at a community college and hoping to transfer to Vanderbilt. My GPA is 3.85 with 67 hours. I should be able to bring it up to 3.9 after another semester.

My SAT score wasn't very good at 1640. I'm studying to take the ACT to try to get a better score.

I'm a member of Phi Theta Kappa and was chosen as one of the ten top students at my college this year.

I'm 24, so I guess I'm a non-traditional student. I come from a normal middle-class family, but I'm a first gen college student and am disabled.

Thanks, and I appreciate any advice!

Oh, I was also home schooled for all 12 years.

You would need to raise your test scores substantially – good luck on ACT

Agree that retaking the SAT or getting a score in the low 30s on the ACT is important.
I am spending too much time here. I first read the thread title as if it said you were transfering from cc as in college confidential! LOL

I’m also very interested in Smith…it might be my top choice (my family wants me to go to Vanderbilt). Smith doesn’t require test scores. Do you think I might be able to get in there?

I know Vandy only accepts 60 credits for transfers.

I thought you were traditional UP to 24?

You may as well try. Vanderbilt’s transfer rate is very high at 31%.
