At the beginning of my senior year, I had one college in mind. I applied early-decision, and was accepted around mid-December. As a result of this, I did not finish my applications for any other schools. I toured the school a few more times, completed the admissions process, and prepared to attend in the fall. However, the more I thought about it, the less I wanted to attend. The school itself was a private college, and had a smaller student body than my high school. They offered a minor in the subject I was interested in, but I could not major in it. I began to dread going, rather than look forward to it.
About a month before my graduation, I decided not to attend the aforementioned college. Unfortunately, since my heart had been so set on that one school at the beginning of the year, I had no other options. Instead, I made plans to attend a junior college about an hour away.
This is currently the best/only option; however, I would like to get out of the junior college as soon as possible. My SAT/ACT scores are well above average, and my GPA is average (I graduated with honors).
I’m wondering what my chances are of being accepted into a four-year university after just one semester at a junior college (for the spring 2016 semester)? After one entire year (fall or summer 2016)? Any advice on expediting the transfer process would be GREATLY appreciated. I would like to get out of this situation very quickly, as it is not at all what I had planned all throughout my high school career.
