Would it be possible to go to a UC, for example, UC Davis for two years, then transfer to a different UC, such as UCSD, UC Berkeley, or UCLA?

Possible? Yes
Probable? Usually no

well, that's what I'm doing now. I have applied to berkeley for fall'05, the reason being Davis does not offer my major (industrial engineering).

It is possible to transfer from a UC to another UC. But as Collegeman said, it is probably unlikely. Odds are against you if you are applying from a 4-year institution such as the UC's. But every year...very few (VERY) UC kids get the chance to transfer to another UC. From what I hear...those wishing to transfer from a UC to UC need to have TOP TOP grades to even having a shot. This is because they prioritize california community colleges over you guys that are already attending an "actual" 4-year university. If you are not satisfied with your UC depending on it's pretige or availability of certain majors (industrial engineering), the best thing to do is to go to a community college and transfer from there. Obviously this path is NOT highly favored, but it is probably your best shot. If choosing that path does not interest you, work with the current UC you attend. UC Davis is a great institution nonetheless!
