While Amherst is a great school and even though I enjoy most of my classes as well as the people I meet I can't help but feel that it isn't the right college for me. Coming into this year I was worried that it would be difficult for me to find a strong group of friends and I was, unfortunately, correct. As a self described geek I couldn't find a group of individuals who shared most of my interests (politics, technology, modernation in "going out") and am hoping that the student-body of the institution I transfer to will better fit my personality.

I would like somewhere with a mid-sized student body, located near or in a large city, and with more diversity of opinion, class, and race.

Currently I'm considering Case Western Reserve University, the University of Chicago, and Rice University.

Unweighted high-school GPA: 3.96
College GPA: 3.5-3.8 (if classes I took at a local community college during high-school are considered a 3.69-3.95)
ACT: 33
Extracurriculars:
College: Elected Senator, IT Supervisor (work), website designer (using a 3rd party) and member of an Education group, member of the debate team, member of the Amherst Roosevelt Institute (potentially the leader of an initiative to bring fiber internet to the area).
High-School: Varsity swimming and soccer, National Honor Society President, Student Body vice president, student council.

Any recommendations regarding where I should apply, how I should go about talking to my advisor and other professors (I'm a bit nervous about this right now), or anything else would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
